All children in school get the opportunity to cook during the school year and Key Stage 2 children are invited to join a course of our cookery club in conjunction with the Let’s Get Cooking Foundation.
Our cookery club has learned about cutting and chopping skills by making a variety of dishes. Each week the children will get to try a new ingredient. At the end of the course, parents are invited to “Cook-Its” – cooking for parents with their children. We also hold regular community events, such as Parents to Lunch days, and have taken part in the National Roast Dinner Day and the Let’s Get Cooking “Cookathon” where the children prepared the school lunch for their fellow pupils and parents. Our Parent Support Advisor has also run a Holiday Club with the Trussell Trust to support cooking skills and planning on a budget. |
Why don’t you try some of the fantastic recipes we have used at Cookery Club?
